Creative Arts Education

Welcome to Buddhi Triveni Program

Buddhi’s Creative Arts program, Triveni, is a confluence of creativity, aesthetics and artistry. Our learners understand the many ways art infuses life, from singing and dancing to creating art and attending plays, which all help to improve well being and enhance their sense of wonder with the world.

  • We believe art can provide a very natural and safe way for children to express themselves.
  • We believe art expands a child’s ability to interact with the world around them, and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication.
  • We believe learning the arts develops emotional intelligence, confidence and resilience, discipline and commitment, communications skills, identity and belonging, creativity and problem-solving skills, and coordination.
  • We believe appreciating or making art involves uses many parts of our brain—from those that process our senses to those involved in emotion, memory, and cognition.

Arts education is therefore an integral part of the Buddhi environment and allows children to learn and develop holistically. The Arts curriculum includes Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance and each of these areas are taught with an emphasis on creativity and aesthetic expression. Through careful planning that includes teaching discrete skills, integrating within the wider curriculum, project based learning and providing practical opportunities via events, visits & exhibits, we offer our learners a wide range of experiences and learning.

Music – Vocal: Children sing folk and easy listening songs based on Indian and Western music both as solo and in group renditions, and along the way learn vocal music techniques such as timbre, pitch, melody, rhythm and harmony.

Dance: Children learn movement in creative ways and understand the importance of rhythm, grace, agility and strength in translating movement to dance. Based on a variety of dance genres, they learn to express moods, emotions and thoughts actively and respond to music spontaneously and creatively.

Theatre & Drama: Children learn skills in communicating effectively through dialogue and body language. Through role-play, voice modulation, dialogue and expressive movement they learn to “get into character” and enact situations, scenes and stories building their skills and confidence to perform on stage and to audiences.

Art & Craft: A wide range of art and craft activities & experiences are used to fuel children’s imagination and creative thinking. They are encouraged to express their own thoughts and apply their often innovative ideas while producing works of art. Using a variety of material and mediums, our learners demonstrate many skills like sketching, colouring, crafting, replicating, comparing and thereby begin to appreciate art for its aesthetic and creative value.
